Supplier Diversity Policy

Sempra Commodities is committed to making the most of opportunities by working with suppliers and setting yearly procurement goals for small, disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses, as well as HubZone firms (Small Businesses). This commitment complements and supports Sempra Energy's corporate diversity plan and "Statement of Values," which highlights the strategic importance of diversity.

Typically, Sempra Energy Trading will contract with Small Businesses for commodity supply to enable us to meet our own customer supply commitments under specific transactions. As with all Sempra Commodities customers, these suppliers are required to meet strict credit, legal and compliance benchmarks before transacting with us. We recognize that these benchmarks eliminate many Small Businesses from becoming customers, but we are committed to seeking creative risk management solutions that will enable more of these companies to transact with us.

We utilize various methods to identify Small Businesses including browsing websites hosted by the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, the Central Contractor's Registration, Acquisition Central and Pro-Net as well as industry networking and attendance at industry wide and diversity specific functions.
